The Propeller Club of London announces its presence on the Internet.
We trust that you will enjoy your visit to this site where you will hopefully find lots of useful and enjoyable information.
The selection of a blog over a conventional website was made on the basis of practicality and economics.
A blog adequately serves our need to communicate with members and those interested in becoming members—it is also significantly cheaper to create and operate.
It provides an instant access point for those needing information on forthcoming events or wanting to see what they missed.
However, it also provides an easy non-tech means of responding with event bookings and general enquiries—all that is needed is a click on an e-mail link.
No training or downloaded software are needed—all you do is just type!
Visitors to the blog can also add comments regarding events that they have attended and these will stay on the site for fellow members to see (subject, of course, to the usual proprietorial constraints).
We believe that the blog will engender greater communication between members and also attract other interested parties including speakers.
Please have a look round and give us your thoughts and suggestions regarding how you would like to see the site develop.
Links
We have provided a number of links, to websites of related maritime organisations, on the sidebar of this blog.
These will change from time to time to reflect current activities in the club (e.g. the websites of our most recent speakers).
Among those listed is the Propeller Club US headquarters—you are encouraged to visit in order to appreciate the extent of the organisation to which you belong.
The HQ site includes a list of around one hundred Propeller Club branches (Ports) worldwide and, as many of you travel extensively, we thought that you might be interested to explore contacts overseas.
Subscribe by email
Although this blog is best viewed using your normal web browser, you can also use the 'subscribe by email' link on the sidebar to receive an email copy of all new articles—there will be a maximum of one email a day (in practice, 2 or 3 per month) and you can unsubscribe from this service at any time.
Viewing or submitting comments to the articles is done by accessing the blog directly.
